A Christian is the unveiling of the reality that was seen in Jesus in His earth walk. He carries the solution of the human problem in his love life. He is born of the Word of God, begotten by His will (1 Peter 1:23, James 1:18). To be a Christian is the same thing as to be Born Again.
A Christian believes that God raised Jesus Christ from the dead and he identified with the resurrected Christ. He has taken Him as his Saviour and confessed Him as his Lord and as a result, God made him a New Creature, a new type of being. He is a new man in Christ who doesn’t have a past. Having received Christ, he now have Eternal Life, which is the life and nature of God Almighty and subsequently becomes the righteousness of God in Christ.
To be a Christian is the same thing as to be Born Again.
The word Christian was first used in the city of Antioch in Bible days (Acts 11:19-26), when the disciples of Jesus were being identified. The people of the world, who watch them called them Christians and they were so-called because they acted like Jesus, talk like Him and they also performed miracles like Him. The disciples were able to behave or do as Jesus did because of the life of God they had received.
Below are some Christian facts:
- A Christian is Born Again:He is a legitimate born child of God. It’s a New Birth, born of the Word and the Spirit of God (1 Peter 1:23, James 1:18, John 1:12).It is a spiritual rebirth of the human spirit.
- A Christian is a New Creature: He has the life and nature of God, which is eternal life in his spirit. This new life makes him a new creature and a supernatural being. The old nature of Satan stopped to exist as he received the life and nature of God (2 Corinthians 5:17).
- A Christian is a bonafide, legal and vital child of God:He is actually a child of God, born of the Spirit and the Word of God with rights and privileges of a son (1 Peter 1:23; James 1:18; John 1:12).God is now his Father.
- A Christian has Eternal Life:This life of God a Christian received makes him supernatural, having the life and nature of God to live in him. Eternal Life is the very nature of God, His Being and the Substance of God. A Christian is divine, being a partaker of the divine nature of God (John 3:16; 1 John 5:11-13, 2 Peter 1:4).
- A Christian is Righteous:He is the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus and this righteousness was enacted upon grounds of justice. He is the result of God fairness and equity. Jesus was delivered to death for our offenses and was raised for our justification (Romans 4:25). With this righteousness, a Christian can go to the presence of God without fear, guilt, condemnation or inferiority (1 Corinthians 1:30).
- A Christian has conquered Satan in Christ:All that Jesus did in His Substitutionary work is for him. He was in Christ when He was crucified on the cross, paid the penalty for man’s sin, died and was buried in the grave and resurrected on the third day in victory, after defeating Satan and his cohorts in hell (2 Corinthians 5:21; Colossians 2:15; Hebrews 2:14).
- A Christian already has Faith:God has given him the measure of faith. This kind of faith came when he received the gospel. God gave to every Christian the same measure of faith, but what is done with it, is the responsibility of individual Christian (Romans 12:3; Romans 10:17).
